Are you a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant ready to take on a pivotal role in a high-impact environment? This is just the role for you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Contract Management: Obtain the contract GMP and collaborate with Estimating and Project Management to accurately assign phase codes and input the original budget into the CMiC accounting system.
  • Billing and Invoices: Map bill codes and create invoices for billing, adhering to our company’s standard format (G702, G703).
  • Change Orders and Subcontracts: Review PCI’s, change order requests, subcontracts, and subcontractor change orders. Verify attachments, backup, math accuracy, and billing rates.
    Invoice Review: Scrutinize all invoices, subcontractor progress payment forms (A-3’s), and statements for billing accuracy.
    Owner Change Orders: Confirm Owner Change Orders (AIA format) are complete and accurate before posting. Update G703 and G702 billing to reflect new contract amounts.
    Monthly Requisitions: Prepare monthly requisitions for Project Managers’ review, ensuring all costs are included. Verify labor rates, insurance, and tax rates are current.
  • Billing and Cost Management: Post monthly sales, prepare cost over billings, and journal entries to move job costs and correct posting errors.
  • Subcontractor Payments: Prepare gross/net schedules, reconciling payments to subcontractors with agency G/L accounts.
    Suspense Account Reconciliation: Reconcile assigned suspense accounts monthly.
  • Monthly Meetings: Attend monthly accounting staff meetings and execute all duties according to the month-end schedule.
  • Closeout Assistance: Assist Project Managers with closeout procedures, ensuring all costs are processed and waivers are received.

What You’ll Need:

  • A college degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent accounting experience.
  • At least 5+ years of project accounting experience.
  • Experience with CMiC software (or similar accounting software).
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment, the ability to manage competing demands, and deal with unexpected events.
