A renowned Healthcare Organization focused on Pediatrics is looking for an experienced individual to join its Team as a Program Director of Strategic Partnerships & Impact.  This is a high-visibility, relationship-intensive role at the heart of our organization’s growth and reporting directly to the Executive Director. This person will serve as an external face of the organization alongside the Executive Director, building and deepening relationships with funders, institutional partners, and collaborators in the medical education and healthcare space. You will own the organization’s external partnership strategy, lead active fundraising efforts, steward relationships with existing supporters, and help shape how our research investments advance our mission.

The ideal candidate is someone who is energized by being in the room, presenting to groups, cultivating donor relationships, and representing our mission with confidence and warmth. They bring deep familiarity with the rhythms of nonprofit leadership and the particular landscape of medical education: its stakeholders, its funding structures, and the cultural dynamics of working alongside clinical and academic leaders.

Working Onsite on Manhattan’s Upper East Side Four (4) Days per Week and One (1) Day Remote (flexibility on actual remote day).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Graduate Degree preferred (in Public Health, Health Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, or a Related Field).
  • At least 7 years of experience in Non-profit Development, Strategic Partnerships, or a Related Field, with a demonstrated track record of Fundraising Success.
  • Experience with large research projects, research management, and study design/publication.
  • Existing relationships within the Medical Education, Pediatric Health, or Broader Healthcare Non-profit Community preferred.
  • Familiarity with the medical education, healthcare, early childhood sectors including an understanding of how the organization is positioned in the healthcare space.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills; genuinely energized by external engagement, public speaking, and building relationships at all levels.
  • Mission driven and passionate about early childhood development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including tailoring messaging to unique funders.
  • Comfort operating in a small nonprofit environment: resourceful, self-directed, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

External Partnerships & Relationship Management

  • Cultivate, grow, and manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships across healthcare systems, academic medical centers, foundations, and aligned nonprofits.
  • Serve as a principal point of contact for external partners, representing the organization with professionalism, warmth, and strategic clarity.
  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities that extend the organization’s reach and amplify its programmatic impact.

Fundraising & Funder Stewardship

  • Lead active fundraising efforts, including prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Serve as liaison to the Mount Sinai development office.

Programmatic Oversight

  • Oversee the implementation and tracking of programmatic activities in close coordination with the Executive Director and Directors of Medical Education and Clinical Programming.
  • Ensure programmatic priorities are sustained by organizational funding, while maintaining fidelity to the organization’s mission and quality standards.
  • Work with the Associate Director of Operations to monitor key performance indicators and support data-informed decision-making in program development and refinement.

Research Investment Strategy

  • Contribute to the development of a strategy for the organization’s research investments, ensuring alignment with mission, and the evolving needs of the medical education field.
  • Build relationships with academic and research partners to identify collaboration opportunities and invest in projects to support and strengthen the organization’s offering.

Organizational Leadership

  • Operate as a senior member of a small, collaborative team contributing to organizational strategy, participating in leadership discussions, and modeling a culture of excellence and mission alignment.
  • Support the Executive Director in high-priority initiatives and represent the organization in external settings as needed.
