Job Description
A high-end residential and commercial Architecture/Interior Design firm is in search of an experienced and reliable Controller with 5-10 years of industry expertise to join their team at their Downtown Manhattan Office.
The role offers a starting salary between $100k -$125K, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and take ownership of the financial statement preparation process. They will also come from an interior design studio or a related field such as architecture, engineering, or construction. A CPA license is not required, nor is experience with Studio Designer software.

Standard hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays—with summer Fridays ending at 2:00 PM. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Principal in crucial financial decisions.
- Preparation of financial documents like business reports, financial forecasts, and statements for a comprehensive understanding of the business’s financial status.
- Weekly reports encompassing cash flow and position changes.
- Reconciliation of G/L and preparation of local, state, and federal tax returns with year-end tax planning.
- Monthly bank reconciliations and management of various balance sheet account controls.
- HR duties involvement, including bi-weekly payroll processing and cash flow management.
- Additional related responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Prior experience in an Architecture/Design company
- Proficiency in QB Online and Excel
- Demonstrates diligence and maintains a professional attitude
