As an MDS & Commission Management Analyst, you will join a dynamic Market Data team and become an integral part of its growth trajectory. This role offers the opportunity to engage with senior management, investment staff, and trading teams and to shape the future of their data and commission management strategies. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining and optimizing key vendor relationships and managing commission allocations while operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Drive MDS Procurement & Analysis: Collaborate with parent company to ensure seamless vendor support and contract management.
- Strategic Vendor Management: Lead the administration, negotiation, and review of vendor contracts, including handling invoices, accruals, and financial forecasting to optimize spend versus budget.
- Commission Management: Oversee the Soft Dollar Commission Management (SDCM) function, managing broker votes and providing real-time budget and commission reports.
- Governance & Compliance: Work closely with various departments to ensure adherence to SDCM requirements, support client reporting requests, and perform vendor reviews.
- Project Leadership: Provide subject matter expertise and project management support for firm-wide initiatives related to MDS and SDCM, ensuring their success and alignment with business goals.
The Expertise They Require:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3+ years in Market Data Services, Middle/Back Office, or Commission Management, with a preference for buy-side financial services experience.
- A strong understanding of the equity trade life cycle, Market Data products, Soft Dollars, and SEC Rule 28e.
- Advanced MS Excel and competency with Word and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to analyze and present complex data, innovate solutions with minimal supervision, and engage effectively with senior trading and investment professionals.
